Shepherd's Quiz & Judging Contest

This activities go right along the lines of our skill-a-thon this month. On Wednesday, July 28th at 4 p.m. the Shepherd’s quiz & judging contest will be taking place in the barn office. The Shepherd’s Quiz is just as it’s called...a quiz. This quiz is composed of questions over topics that you have learned about throughout the year through your skill-a-thons. After you are done with the written portion, the Shepherd’s Quiz, you may participate in the judging portion, the Judging Contest. In the Judging Contest there will be 2 classes of lambs, one breeding ewes and the other market lambs, located just outside the barn office that you will judge to determine your own placing. The This activity is worth 20 points and is a fun easy way to put your knowledge to the test.

The obstacle course will take place at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 29th at the north side of the lamb barn. This activity is worth 20 points. There will be a sign up sheet in the barn office throughout the week for those who are interested in participating.

Showmanship

Showmanship will take place at the conclusion of the lamb show on Tuesday, July 27th! There will be a chance for kids to sign up all day on show day in the barn office.

Showmanship is very important because by participating in it you qualify for the achievement awards. Even if you are a first year member look at all of the achievement award applications in the back of your project book. To be eligible for the Outstanding member award you have to have participated in showmanship multiple years.

Back by popular demand will be our alumni showmanship! This is open to past lamb club members and parents of 4-H members. This is most always the highlight of the show!
